The Peoples say

QUESTION:
DO YOU BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT WAS
ACTUALLY IN THE DARK ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF A
TRINIDAD NATIONAL FROM BARBADOS?
Margaret La Rose, social worker “I have my doubt
that the Government is not aware of such
happenings. The government of the day is the
government of the day and awareness is part of who
they are, it’s in their purview, so of course they do
(know).”
Aaron Elliott, clerk “I don’t think the Government
was in the dark. I think they had an idea that the
TTPS would have been issued and went across there.
The Government should have an idea.”
Bradshaw Steven, taxi driver “I ain’t sure they know
because he say he ain’t know. It’s police from
Trinidad and Barbados, but yuh ain’t sure if the
Government really know about it.”
Marina Valere “I think they would have known.
For police officers of Trinidad to go to Barbados, I
think the Ministry would be involved in that.”
Abdul Ghafur, vendor “Personally, I don’t think that
it is possible if the security of Trinidad goes to
another country and bring back someone from that
country, it’s obvious the people here supposed to
know. If they don’t know, that is a real lapse in
communication. Personally, I think it is folly.”
Owen Williams “Nah, they lying, they have to be
lying. If they have nothing to do with it, how he come
back to Trinidad, which meaning them know what
was taking place.
They send people to lock him up, to face trial here so
that have to be the whole point. They have to know
what going on.”
Supersad “Well, they accustom lying about
everything. I have had so many experiences where
they (Government) lie. The man (PM) say he not
closing down Petrotrin, next week they close it.”
