Woman forgets card at Massy, $2,000 used to make online purchases
Fraud Squad officers are carrying out investigations into an incident at
Massy Stores, Maraval, after a customer’s debit card was allegedly used in
the online purchase of more than $2,000 worth of items.
The victim, who lives at Saddle Road, Maraval, visited the store on
December 8, and used her RBC debit card to purchase groceries.
She told police that after she realised she had forgotten the card at the
store, she returned to the establishment on December 11 and was
presented with it by an employee.
When the woman checked with her bank, she was informed the card had
been used to make online purchases amounting to $2,237.58.
A report was later made to the police and inquiries are continuing.
